Qualifications & Requirements
- Educational Qualification: Pass in SSLC or its equivalent qualification.
- License & Experience: Must possess a valid motor boat driving license issued by a competent authority.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Boat Driver, backed by a prescribed experience certificate countersigned by an authorized State/Central Government enforcement officer.
- Technical Knowledge: Basic knowledge in motor boat engine mechanism and the ability to carry out minor repairs (verified via a practical test).
- Swimming Test: Must pass a swimming test consisting of a 50-meter swimming trial completed within 2 minutes and 2 minutes of floating ability at the deeper sides of a swimming pool.
Age Limit & Physical Standards
- Age Limit: 25 – 40 years. Candidates must be born between 02.01.1986 and 01.01.2001 (both dates included). Age relaxations apply for SC/ST and OBC candidates.
- Height: Minimum 168 cm (160 cm for SC/ST candidates).
- Chest: Minimum 81 cm with a minimum expansion of 5 cm.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates must qualify in at least 5 out of 8 standard events (e.g., 100m run, high jump, long jump, shot put, cricket ball throw, rope climbing, pull-ups, 1500m run).
- Medical & Vision Standards: Strict visual standards apply (distant vision 6/6 Snellen, near vision 0.5 Snellen without glasses, normal colour vision, and no night blindness). Requires a two-part medical certificate from a Government Ophthalmologist and a Medical Officer not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon.
