The Union Bank of India has released a notification for the engagement of 1,865 apprentices under the Apprentice Act, 1961. This engagement is for a one-year training period and does not constitute permanent employment with the bank.
Eligibility Criteria (as of April 1, 2026)
- Age: Minimum 20 years and maximum 28 years. Relaxations: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Non-creamy layer), and up to 15 years for PwBD depending on category.
- Education: A graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
- Graduation Date: Candidates must have passed their graduation between April 1, 2022, and April 1, 2026.
- Language Proficiency: Applicants must be proficient (reading, writing, and speaking) in the local language of the state they are applying for.
Training & Stipend
- The monthly stipend is based on the location of the branch where the apprentice is stationed:
- Rural / Semi-Urban: ₹15,000
- Urban: ₹18,000
- Metro: ₹20,000
Fees (including GST @18%)
- General / OBC (Male): ₹944
- General / OBC (Female): ₹708
- SC / ST / PwBD / Transgender: ₹236
Key Dates & Application Process
- Application Window: Online applications are accepted from April 29, 2026, to May 19, 2026.
- How to Apply: Candidates must apply online via the Union Bank of India recruitment page or the BFSI Sector Skill Council portal.
- Mandatory Registrations: Applicants must also register on the NATS (National Apprenticeship Training Scheme) and NAPS (National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme) portals and provide their enrollment numbers during the application process.
- Online Examination: Tentatively scheduled for May/June 2026.
