Qualifications & Eligibility
- Age Limit: 20 to 35 years. Candidates must be born between 02.01.1991 and 01.01.2006 (inclusive). Upper age limit is relaxed up to 45 years for Ex-servicemen.
- Educational Qualification: Pass in Higher Secondary Education Examination (Plus Two) or its equivalent.
- Technical Qualifications: Current valid Driving Licence for Motor Cycle with Gear, Light Motor Vehicles, Heavy Passenger Vehicles, and Heavy Goods Vehicles with a Driver’s Badge.
- Proficiency in driving LMV/HPV/HGV, proven through a practical test conducted by the Kerala PSC.
Physical Standards
- Height: Male: Minimum 168 cm Female: Minimum 157 cm
- Chest (Male only): Minimum 81 cm with a minimum expansion of 5 cm.
- Eye Sight (Without glasses): Distant Vision: 6/6 Snellen for both right and left eyes. Near Vision: 0.5 Snellen for both right and left eyes. Must have full field of vision, free from color blindness, night blindness, and squint.
Selection Process & Physical Efficiency Test (PET) - Pre-service Training: Selected candidates must undergo a 9-month pre-service training in Armed Police Battalions, Police Training College, or Kerala Police Academy.
- Physical Efficiency Test: Candidates must qualify in 5 out of the specified events (8 items for males, 7 items for females) under the national physical efficiency one-star standard test.
- Weightage Marks: NCC Certificates: ‘A’, ‘B’, and ‘C’ certificate holders receive 2%, 3%, and 5% weightage marks respectively. Sports & SPC: Meritorious sports persons and Student Police Cadet (SPC) certificate holders are eligible for extra weightage marks.
