Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has opened online applications for multiple contract positions and training seats, with a deadline to apply by 22 July 2026. Eligible Indian citizens can apply through the official CSL SAP portal for the posts of Safety Assistant, Auto Electrician, or Scaffolder Trainee
Safety Assistant
- Total Vacancies: 13 (UR-7, OBC-2, SC-1, ST-2, EWS-1).
- Educational Qualification: Pass in SSLC, and a one-year Diploma in Safety/Fire from a government-recognized institute or PSU.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of training or experience in safety within a PSU, factory, construction company, or engineering company.
- Age Limit: Maximum 45 years as of 22 July 2026 (Relaxation: 3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST).
- Remuneration: Monthly consolidated pay of ₹23,300 during the first year, with subsequent annual increases.
- Method of Selection: Practical Test (70 Marks) and Physical Test (30 Marks).
- Application Fee: ₹200 (SC/ST candidates are exempted).
- Note: Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are not eligible to apply due to the hazardous nature of the operations.
Auto Electrician
- Total Vacancies: 2 (UR-1, OBC-1).
- Educational Qualification: Pass in SSLC and an ITI – National Trade Certificate (NTC) in Mechanic Auto Electrical & Electronics (MAEE) or Mechanic Motor Vehicle.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience in OEM-based service centers (e.g., Maruti, TATA, Hyundai) or equivalent experience in the Armed Forces.
- Age Limit: Maximum 45 years as of 22 July 2026 (Relaxable by 3 years for OBC; up to 50 years for PwBD & Ex-servicemen).
- Remuneration: Monthly consolidated pay of ₹23,300 during the first year, with annual increases. Higher pay may be offered for extra on-roll experience in CSL or similar shipyards.
- Method of Selection: Practical Test (100 Marks).
- Application Fee: ₹300 (SC/ST/PwBD candidates are exempted).
Scaffolder Trainee
- Total Seats: 60 (UR-24, OBC-21, SC-8, ST-1, EWS-6). .
- Educational Qualification: Minimum X Standard pass; Maximum XII Standard pass. Candidates with higher qualifications (Degree, Diploma, ITI) are not eligible.
- Age Limit: Maximum 23 years as of 22 July 2026 (Relaxation: 3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST).
- Training & Stipend: 3 months of training with a monthly stipend of ₹10,000. Successful trainees may be considered for a contract post starting at ₹20,100 per month.
- Method of Selection: Physical Test (100 Marks).
- Application Fee: ₹200 (SC/ST candidates are exempted).
- Note: PwBD candidates are not eligible due to the nature of work at heights.
