Qualifications & Eligibility

  • ​Age Limit: 20 to 35 years. Candidates must be born between 02.01.1991 and 01.01.2006 (inclusive). Upper age limit is relaxed up to 45 years for Ex-servicemen.
  • ​Educational Qualification: Pass in Higher Secondary Education Examination (Plus Two) or its equivalent.
  • ​Technical Qualifications: ​Current valid Driving Licence for Motor Cycle with Gear, Light Motor Vehicles, Heavy Passenger Vehicles, and Heavy Goods Vehicles with a Driver’s Badge.
  • ​Proficiency in driving LMV/HPV/HGV, proven through a practical test conducted by the Kerala PSC.

Physical Standards

  • ​Height: ​Male: Minimum 168 cm ​Female: Minimum 157 cm
  • ​Chest (Male only): Minimum 81 cm with a minimum expansion of 5 cm.
  • ​Eye Sight (Without glasses): ​Distant Vision: 6/6 Snellen for both right and left eyes. ​Near Vision: 0.5 Snellen for both right and left eyes. ​Must have full field of vision, free from color blindness, night blindness, and squint.

    Selection Process & Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  • ​Pre-service Training: Selected candidates must undergo a 9-month pre-service training in Armed Police Battalions, Police Training College, or Kerala Police Academy.
  • ​Physical Efficiency Test: Candidates must qualify in 5 out of the specified events (8 items for males, 7 items for females) under the national physical efficiency one-star standard test.
  • ​Weightage Marks: ​NCC Certificates: ‘A’, ‘B’, and ‘C’ certificate holders receive 2%, 3%, and 5% weightage marks respectively. ​Sports & SPC: Meritorious sports persons and Student Police Cadet (SPC) certificate holders are eligible for extra weightage marks.
