Educational Qualifications:
- Matriculation / SSLC plus ITI from recognized institutions (NCVT/SCVT) in specified trades (e.g., Fitter, Electrician, Mechanic Diesel, etc.).
- OR Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Automobile Engineering.
Eligibility Criteria - Age (as on 01-07-2026): 18 to 30 years. Relaxations: SC/ST (5 years), OBC-NCL (3 years), and various other categories as per rules.
- Medical Standard: Must meet A-1 standards.
- Vision: Distant vision 6/6, 6/6 without glasses (must pass fogging test).
- Restriction: Candidates who have undergone LASIK or any corrective eye surgery are not eligible.
Examination Fee - General/OBC: Rs. 500 (Rs. 400 refundable after appearing in CBT-1).
- SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/Female/Transgender/Minorities/EBC: Rs. 250 (Full refund after appearing in CBT-1).
Recruitment Process
The recruitment involves five distinct stages: - First Stage CBT (CBT-1): Screening test (75 questions, 60 minutes).
- Second Stage CBT (CBT-2): Part-A: 100 questions (90 mins) – used for shortlisting. Part-B: 75 questions (60 mins) – qualifying nature (35% pass mark).
- Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT): Shortlisted at 8 times the vacancy; no negative marking.
- Document Verification (DV): Based on 50% weightage from CBT-2 Part-A and 50% from CBAT.
- Medical Examination (ME): Final fitness check by Railway Authorities.
Important Application Rules
Single Application: - Candidates can apply to only one RRB and submit only one application. Multiple applications will lead to debarment.
- Live Photo: The application module captures a live photograph; pre-existing photos are not to be uploaded.
- Negative Marking: There is a penalty of 1/3^{rd} mark for every wrong answer in both CBT-1 and CBT-2.
- No Pen/Pencil: Candidates are not allowed to bring pens into the center; they will be provided during the exam.
